This book really opened my eyes to what living with a disability might be like for a child. I would be interested to find out whether or not it rings true for those who live with a loved one with disabilities. There were a few parts that I felt were a little contrived, but considering it was being told from a 5th grader's perspective, I had no problem overlooking them. It is sure to help readers understand the frustrations of a gifted child who doesn't have the ability to speak. It showed me that a disabled person can have the same emotions, desires, and dreams as I do, but with the heightened frustration of not being able to do things physically, or without great exertion. We take the simplest tasks for granted. Heartwarming, insightful, quick read.
