Full disclosure here - I chose this book only because I needed a 'witch' book I hadn't already read, and I could get this one at the library. To my great surprise, I really liked it - and what's not to like: it has a witch, a vampire, a human, and a 'posse of pixies'. And I've got to say, without Jenks & his Matalina and that posse of pixies, this would have been just an OK story for me.

Things have not been going well for Rachel Morgan at Inderland Security, so she resigns and then quickly learns that there's a contract out on her - as in "I want that witch DEAD!" As she's running from a variety of assassins, she collects a rather unique and unlikely team, and learns that having a pixy for backup is a lot better than she imagined. So while she and her team are trying to nullify her death contract, they end up establishing the private firm of Vampiric Charms Runner Service.

So now I have another series to read - maybe this wasn't such a good idea!!
