Alice I Have Been is the story of Alice, the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland and her relationship a math professor at Oxford that used the pen name Lewis Carroll. Though I was never a huge fan of the Alice in Wonderland story, I though this book was really well done and was an interesting take. There were parts that I absolutely loved, and listening to it on audio, I thought Samantha Eggers did a fantastic job. However, there were also Lolita-esqe undertones running throughout the book that were somewhat disturbing.
It was also interesting to find out this is a historical novel, and many of the facts of this are true, and that Charles Dodgson/Lewis Carroll was the inspiration for Lolita.
