really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction

The "quintessentially English" Stephen Fry attempts to understand and convey what it is to be "quintessentially American." He hits major and minor events, huge tourist attractions and forgotten destinations, shining jewels and seedy underbellies. I'm not sure if he succeeds, but the journey is humorous and insightful.
