it was amazing
bookshelves: fantasy

I enjoyed this book (really a whole lot) but it's obvious that it's an earlier, rougher work that Sanderson's best work.

The characters were very well done and the world was very well-imagined. But I was plagued throughout with a sense that I was reading a video game. Specifically something like Zelda (view spoiler).

I also thought the fight scenes were a little too detailed. But that may just be me.

The characters were well-done, and the plot twists—especially the final one—were surprising, interesting, and original.
