really liked it
bookshelves: teen-thriller

I liked this book. It was a tiny bit clunky at the beginning but got better as the story went on. It deals with concepts like criminalization of youth, and corporatizing prisons but mostly is a fast paced adventure of a few kids trying to escape a horrible, prison complete with creepy, creepy (can I say creepy again) scientists, hounds of hell with no skin (gross!) and experimentation. This book is good for anyone wanting an adventure, has supernatural and anti-establishment overtones, with some horror. Some gang related stuff going on in prison would also appeal to more teens. The only problem? Why can’t anything ever be a standalone book anymore?
