really liked it
bookshelves: soldiering

I greatly enjoyed this memoir. Mullaney documents his West Point/Ranger/Rhodes scholar at Oxford/Afghanistan days with a clarity and prose match the engaging content. Additionally, this is a good book for the militariphobe; Mullaney moral conflict and journey transcend the military while doing a service to the character of the men and women who serve. For those curious about the composition of the book, from my recollection, it's about 60% civilian/education, 40% military, with sections arranged as i forward-slashed in the second sentence.
