I love all her books, and this one most of all. Her characters are grownups, not spoiled brats, intelligent and complex without being tiresomely self-absorbed. I always learn something, this time about Chinese cooking, and the plot is usually generally upbeat. Like the earlier ones, this takes place in modern China and focuses on an American woman in China after her late husband's estate is being sued by an alleged child and on a young Chinese American chef who has moved back to China to continue a family tradition of excellence in traditional Chinese cooking.
