A very strong entry in the "popular girl falls from grace and discovers her true self" category. After she is ostracized by her elite former friends for sleeping with the queen bee's boyfriend (actually he tried to rape her), Regina feels a full range of fear, anger, bargaining, revenge, and acceptance as she tries to figure out how to exist at school in her new location on the food chain. Her growing relationship with Michael, a loner she formerly helped to bully, is nicely handled and hopeful without being hokey.
