A very unique book that mixes baseball with leprechauns, giants, ogres and other fantastical creatures. The main character is recruited by the world's shortest agent (he's a leprechaun or something like that, a dwarf maybe?) to play on a baseball team in this other realm. And they have to play against giants, and against other fantastic creatures; something bad will happen if they don't win. There are tall tales and legends come to life too. I'm not describing it very well here, it's been a while since I read it, but it was very clever and lots of fun. But a long book too.
