I had been, just days before starting this book, told that Kafka was a gifted, but confusing writer. Upon starting this book I agreed he was gifted, but confusing? Not at all! In fact I believe Kafka is one of the most interesting writers of classic literature I have had the honor of coming across.

Although the novel was published after his death, and never completely finished, the influence that the story holds is inspiring. Better yet, it's a classic I think most young people will be able to read and understand. Hopefully, it can act as a gateway to younger readers to get them involved in the classics.
