This is without a doubt a classic of the horror genre and the basis (I feel) for all our vampire lore. There is definitely an element of the Victorian in this novel as the women are portrayed in such stark contrasts; the pure, faithful and undoubtedy chaste women on the side of good and the very sexual female vampire trio on the side of evil. If you are a vamp fan, this book should be on your shelf! Even if you aren't, this is a classic that should not be overlooked.
