really liked it
bookshelves: teen-ya, realistic-fiction, diary-or-journal, foster-care-or-adoption
Read in November, 2010

I love that Ellen Hopkins went out of the box and made the last book a complete work of fiction. I think this is even more of a feat because the first two books are so based in reality and close to her.

Rachel Edler I never thought about how unique Ellen Hopkins is to do that. When I first started reading the book, I wasn't sure how the story was going to continue. I also didn't know who was speaking (until it was said). When Ellen Hopkins was writing this, she probably said to herself, "What if this happened, what if that happened?" From this book, I can tell she has such a broad imagination, but also disturbing. Even though I enjoyed the first two books better, Ellen Hopkins did not fail to have this book horrifying, like the other two.
