What I learned from this book:

That's a good question good reads. I learned about pre-Norman invasion Britain. I learned about the anglo-saxon war lords who ruled the land. I learned that anglo-saxon war-lords like to wear animal hides and eat lots of pork product.

I learned about jousting. Very phallic sport. Homoerotic too.

I learned about the Jews too. Ivanhoe pursues Rachel, the daughter of Jewish moneylender. Her dad is detested and abused by the French and the Anglo-Saxons. Ivanhoe goes after Rachel and she finds him very attractive but puts her father's interest (no pun intended) ahead of her own. She ends up kind of hating Ivanhoe. Ivanhoe ends up with a blonde princess I think. Very boring.
