it was ok

This book is brilliantly illustrated! The details are wonderfully true to the original Lewis story. However, I can not give it more than two stars, for the "re-telling" of the story is inaccurate at important points. Although not ALL the allegory of Aslan is lost, at the end of the story, Peter recalls that "without what [Edmund:] did, the Witch would have won." Here's the kicker, "'True,' said Aslan,'even I might be a statue.'" OUCH! Even Mrs. Beaver knows that's a ridiculous idea!

Christina Thanks for that review, Jess! Only read it once and must have been on reading autopilot because I totally missed the import of that line from Aslan.
