The Running Man

This is a fantastic book. I am not going to sit here and debate anyone- or try and convince you to read it with various metaphors, comparisons, or adjectives.
Suffice to say that if you have above average intelligence you will appreciate this book. It is a quick read and every page is important. If you do not like this book you should start scrap booking or join a bowling league.
But I suppose some people want to know more. The book paints a very dark but feasible picture of the not so distant future. The story is written very tightly and you feel as if you are running with the main character. As the pages turn the noose gets tighter. I found myself marveling that the book could go on at all after the character painted himself into various corners.
While tha action and suspense elements are good- what I really appreciated was the social commentary. The book read like a combination of "1984" and "The Jungle".
Also I have a podcast that will be discussing this book.
