really liked it
bookshelves: socialissues, educational

This book is about girls in gangs. Gini does not present these girls as "girls gone astray" as the media may represent - but girls who keep up, and sometimes go further, than their male counterparts. May pull into question your thoughts on girls and aggression. For some of us, it's preaching to the choir.

There was a study recently about the increasing violence among young girls in America. Yikes.

Would you recommend this book to people not particularly interested in gangs outside of "Grand Theft Auto" games?

Gloria I'd say so. It's not a terribly analytical book, but more a bunch of case studies.
