Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems is a “cautionary tale” about a young father, Trixie his daughter, and Knuffle Bunny, Trixie’s stuffed rabbit who all take a trip to the laundromat. All is well until Trixie realizes someone is missing on the walk home. I watched the animated version of this picture book which is narrated by the author, his daughter Trixie and his wife Cheryl. Willems received a Caldecott Honor for his illustrations that combine photography and drawing. The story itself had me laughing out loud, and it was enhanced by the authentic narrations and charming animation of the pictures. I recommend this story for children and students in kindergarten to about second grade. It shows how a small errand can be a great adventure and what parents will do for their children.

Ch_amyM I also laughed out loud when I read this book. I've read it with my class before and they also enjoyed it. The combination of the pictures and drawing is very differnt, but I think it was neat that it showed the real world, but then had these cartoon like characters that capture the kids imagination.

Ruth Is the animated version available as a DVD or did you locate it online? If the latter, could you post the url? Thanks!
