the paris literary scene of that time is quite the romantic image.

struggling writers henry miller and anais nin kept themselves in wine & bread by writing erotica for a few cents a page for a rich patron with a penchant for dirty stories.

this book is a collection of short stories from the 1940s about artists, models, writers and intermingling characters.

its history makes it kind of interesting. i'm not aware of too many female voices of that time exploring female sexuality.
