Suzanne I just got this book last week. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on it!

Kristi Suzanne, I'm reading this for book club on March 10th! Looking forward to feeling this great story everybody is talking about.

Kristi Suzanne, CUTTING is quite a book! And Verghese has an intricate and detailed story to tell. Very long and "meandering," as so perfectly stated by my fellow book club friend. So much so that I felt tired and a "I'm happy this book is over" feeling once completed. There were some great, meaningful, and WOW parts, and the author is pretty much genius, but the majority of this book didn't hold my interest as much as I had hoped, expected, and needed, considering its high praise. Ditto those feelings for some of my fellow bookies. It's one of those books that some truly adore and others just move on without recommendation. I'm the latter, unfortunately. For my effort expended, I had hoped for much more reward. I guess that's what a high goodreads rating does for the reader's psyche. But, hey, that's just me, and my opinions are of the minority. A reader of twins and/or perhaps an individual involved in the medical field may ultimately dig CUTTING FOR STONE. Like it's said, to each his own.

Suzanne Thanks for the comments on the book, Kristi. I'm still planning on reading it, so don't worry - you haven't scared me away from it:)

Kristi GOOD, because I always love to hear your reviews, especially on this one. :)
