Good story--

Grisham is a master at keeping the tension throughout and raising the stakes. Although I thought his later work, The Partner was more tightly plotted, I liked this novel better. The details of work at a top law firm come out alive and having worked as a paralegal at one, I could totally identify with the character.

The first part of the novel where the protagonist goes through the interviews and gets initiated into the firm may be a slow read for some people, but it's still interesting enough to carry you forward.

There's not much to say except that Grisham is a master story-teller with lean, cliche-riddled prose that you stop caring because you're engrossed in the story.

There's a lot to learn from this.
