really liked it
bookshelves: memoir

After meeting Ken in a deli line while both are waiting to purchase Montrachet cheese, Glenda feels an immediate connection. Although Ken is older and has been married twice with both ending tragically, the couple soon marry and have children. As if in a fairy tale they live happily ever after until a spot on Ken's lungs require the family to use every reserve they have to fight through the illness. The devotion and love shown by the family in this memoir by Burgess will touch the hearts of readers and remain in their minds long after the book is closed.
