For my reader's advisory class.

I couldn’t handle this book! Between a horse slowly dying, and the main character being whipped 200 times, I turned a delicate shade of green and had to force myself to continue. I’m way too much of a chicken for this strong of a guy book! I had previously added Archer’s Tale, also by Bernard Cornwell, to my ‘to read’ list, because I am interested in the Crusades, and I think I will still give it a try, but honestly it’s been bumped further down my ‘to read’ list from my experience with this book.
