This book was almost great. A woman is kidnapped for several days and given barely enough food and water to subsist. She amazingly manages to escape and is hospitalized. During her hospitalization she is evaluated by psychiatrists who disagree on whether she was truly a victim or if she's looking for attention. The place where she was held can't be found and there's no other evidence that she didn't merely mistreat herself for a few days hiding from her friends. She starts to become unsure herself if it really happened. She does find the truth.

The book didn't flow well for me. There might have been enough of a language difference or cultural difference that I didn't catch the meaning of various parts. Or maybe it just wasn't written as well. I'd read more by this novelist.
