really liked it
bookshelves: detective, 2010

Focused on jurors in a civil suit against a major tobacco company, this book was more interesting than I initially thought it might be. I saw the movie rendition that came out in the late 1990s, and my enjoyment of it was what inspired me to pick up the book. I enjoy movie renditions of John Grisham, but hadn't picked any of his books up until now. I was concerned that it would be slower moving and bogged down by comparison, but I was wrong. Sure, there are more details of the trial proceedings and so forth, but that can be expected in a novel. I found it fun, and it's been long enough since watching the movie that I couldn't quite remember how it ended. Needless to say, I'm impressed, and would definitely pick up another Grisham in the future.
