liked it

I really wanted to like this book. I loved the idea of finding a mother's diary and learning her feelings. I think we all think of mothers as just mothers and not as people with their own feelings but Helena's diary was such a self-absorbed story. I couldn't feel for her at all. And I didn't really feel for Gabriella, the main character, either. At one point, she says that they are acting like she's an obstinate teen and quite frankly, she is. There were parts that kept me reading but not enough to make me love it.
