Rating Clarification: 2.5 stars

I don't quite understand what all the hype is over this book. It's a romantic suspense featuring a hero I couldn't come to squee over. Gray killed it for me. I liked Faith Devlin Hardy, but Gray Rouillard was an arse. The novel spans over 12 years and even when he started becoming somewhat decent to Faith, there was no redeeming him in my eyes.

It was distracting to have a father and son cad duo with similar names... Gray and Guy. I had to be careful reading about these two similar characters with degrading regard for women.

There was a funny part at the end of the book that made me LOL and the suspense was... meeehhhh... okay even though I figured out the mystery quite early on. I really liked Faith's rise from rags to riches, but not to the extent where it was over the top. Overall, I would have given it 3 stars if Gray would have been a bit more of a decent guy.
