really liked it

This particular short story by Jane Austin was not her best work, but did show an intriguing concept of a female character that you are lead to love to hate. Lady Susan makes one so angry and disgusted but at times with Austin's masterful writing also garner's your sympathy. It packs a punch in such a small package. I also found the nasty character of Lady Susan unlike any other protagonist written of in this time period, a lot of her other works feature the helpless female that is just waiting to fall in love. Here we see the slutty widow who is looking for the most money in a future marriage, it brings up a whole new understanding of what lengths some women went to in order to be set for life in this time period. Still a good read, but be prepared this is not your usual run of the mill Jane Austin princess happily ever after story!
