it was amazing

I was fortunate enough to come upon this book in an ARC giveaway thing. I chose it for silly reasons: I knew someone with the last name of the detective (an unusual last name and hard to pronounce), I liked the setting (just over the border into Cananda from Vermont), and the title was intriguing.

How lucky for me! This was a great mystery story, well-written with sharp characteization, a good plot, and lots of local interest. It's always good to add another author to that mystery list which is so useful when I'm not in the mood for anything heavy.

Highly recommended.

Barbara This sounds intriguing! I am familiar with the locale. We have taken that lovely drive through VT to Montreal and environs.

Gail I think you'd really like it, Barbara. I was delighted. The author has a fresh voice, a relief from the same old formula mysteries.
