This book provides a look into religious compounds in the United States. It sounded a lot like the one in Texas a couple of years back:

It shows how hard it is to leave such a compound, the abuse and struggles members of the community face on such compounds, and the how the power of isolation and family often make leaving feel impossible.

A powerful book that at least offers some hope at the ending.
