This book was extremely well written. The characters were well drawn and nuanced in a way I have rarely seen in books I have recently read. Her writing style was such that you literally felt like you could see, touch, taste and feel everything that the characters felt. It was rich and lush and layered. My only real gripe with the book was that it felt drawn out. It was a very complex story and the time traveling element was handled craftily. However, I felt that it could have been at least 100 pages shorter. I was also highly disappointed in the final 50 pages of the book. I felt that the author had brought you on this beautiful journey with these two people only to have it kind of fall apart at the end.
In the end it is definitely worth a read and is not at all "chick lit" this is a story that anyone would find fascinating.
