bookshelves: youngadult

This was a rather odd supernatural mystery, set in 1970 - Bliss, who grew up on a commune, is attending high school for the first time, and navigating the dangerous waters of teenage social interaction. So we're dealing with high school friendships, but also racism, class tension, and lessons about not messing with angry ghosts. It's pretty disjointed. The very short chapters are interspersed with pages containing quotes from the Andy Griffith Show and the Manson Family trials. It breaks up the tension of the story and adds to the disjointed feel.
