In "Extreme Measures," Mitch Rapp and Mike Nash stopped a group of terrorists before they could destroy the National Counterterrorism Center. 185 people were killed but it could have been much worse.

There are still three terrorists missing. These men have cut their ties to al Qaeda and are wroking as an independent cell. This makes catching them, more difficult. In addition, Mitch finds that he is having to explain his actions to politicians who don't seem to realize what is necessary to maintain the nation's defense.

The series with Mitch Rapp has provided many enjoyable reading moments. This story is packed with adventure but the author departs from the action and gives Mitch's reasons for the actions he takes. This lets us know more about Mitch but takes away from the suspense.

Mitch is a well developed character, heroic, brave and a true patriot. The other characters are more narrowly described.

If Mitch is the voice of the author, Vince Flynn is telling us that with the recent terrorist attempt at the Detroit airport and other developements, America must remain deligent in finding the terrorists and getting as much information from them as possible.
