I am a big fan of John Connolly and his Charlie Parker novels. This is his first collection of short fiction and it is immensely enjoyable. The stories are dark, eerie and filled with unexplainable things that creep out of our nightmares to haunt us. A few of the stories, such as "Green, Deep Green," "The Waterford Abyss" and "The Shifting of the Sands" have sort of Lovecraftian flavor to them.

The book also includes "The Reflecting Eye," a novella featuring my favorite PI and sojourner in darkness, Charlie Park.
