it was amazing
bookshelves: dystopic, dark-fantasy, favorites

This is haunting in tone, very dark, very very different from anything I've read before. Basically, this is a police procedural/mystery set in a dark fantasy landscape where power is pulled from the bones of the dead, and our protagonist is a cop who is involved with a murder ring that kills off outstanding artists of every flavor to sell their bones to collectors. This is deliciously different and very well done. The only flaw I find is that I didn't feel that the protagonist's moment to shine (where he figures out and fixes the problem) was adequately described. But it was a small matter.

I'd call this one a win.
