The story of Idina Sackville, whose life scandalized the London Society she had been born to. She married five times, beginning in 1913, and divorced all five husbands. Because of the divorces she lived for years estranged from her three children.
She lived for years in Kenya and knew and partied hard with many of them.
The book is written by her great-granddaughter, who never met her, but who manages to write of her with warmth and compassion.
