Mark Batterson encourages us to return to the soul of Christianity, seen clearly in the greatest commandment. He proceeds to examine each facet of that commandment: heart (compassion), soul (wonder), mind (curiosity) and strength (energy). Batterson concludes the book by saying that while the Protestant Reformation was a reformation of creeds, so the next reformation will be a reformation of deeds; a good point which I have read elsewhere. Batterson is a pastor in Washington DC and he writes in an easy-to-read style, it is almost like reading a series of sermons. I would highly recommend this book to any Christian; it targets a wide audience and I believe many people would be challenged and encouraged by reading it.
