Aubree Walker is called home when her aunt (and guardian) is hospitalized following a fall. With Aunt Lottie in a coma, Aubree's at loose ends in Suttontowne, LA--especially as she's rather be anywhere but there. She's got a big secret, shared by the hot-hot Booker Outlaw, a secret that could ruin both of them.

Booker Outlaw is a quiet man. One of three triplets, and hounded by his family's nasty reputation, he keeps to himself and harbors his love of Aubree in silence. When she was in danger last summer, he didn't hesitate to rescue her--or bury the evidence.

This New Adult romance is a bit steamy, and not just because the bayou is sultry. Upon her return, Aubree's guilt of staying away haunts her. And she's plagued by the one man she cannot face--Daniel Langston, one half of a cruel twinship. Daniel wants to know where his brother Damien is--and he's not willing to accept Aubree's stonewalling.

The story is told in alternating POV, between Aubree and Booker, which I always love. It's clear from the first that Booker is mad for Aubree--and she him--but they struggle (briefly) to come to terms with this attraction. Booker's so unassuming, he doesn't want to taint Aubree's reputation. Aubree's so driven to leave the bayou and return to her perfectly ordered world, she's afraid to commit to Booker.

Still they eventually hit it (none of that Fade-to-Black stuff here, folks)...and forge a relationship from the murky swamp of their dark history. Daniel won't go away, however, and the climax, well, did Suttontowne really need two Langstons?

I had a bit of trouble with the mom/aunt issue. Thought that was odd and unnecessary. Also thought the way Aubree handled that revelation was stilted. Loved Booker and his triplet brothers. D-Lish. It's a fast read with an intriguing plot and great Louisiana flavors throughout.
