Whoa....very violent book. Some similar elements in the book find their way into "The Road". I like McCarthy's writing style, but this book sometimes feels too heavy on the gore and a bit light on character development.

Neibaur This is sitting on my dresser, waiting for me to read. I really enjoy his style of writing and have enjoyed everything of his that I've read.

Jeff Your reviews of his Border Crossing Trilogy absolutely mirror my own feelings, and I loved "The Road"....I'm a huge McCarthy fan....but, Neibaur, the violence was so gratuitous and jsut too much for me. Very, very little character development. Tough.
