I know I saw this as a play when I was a kid, but I didn't remember most of the details. Still, though there's plenty of suspense, I felt pretty confident about what the ending would look like, and I think that made the book a more difficult (less entertaining) read than it would have been otherwise. I found the final depiction of Fagin to be a real page-turner, though -- Dickens does misery quite well.
