really liked it

A very creepy and spooky series start for kids 5th grade and up (maybe some 4th graders) this relatively low level read is truly creepy. Derek Stone loses his father and brother in a terrifying train wreck early in the novel. Strange things start happening, and Derek's brother Ronny returns miraculously from the dead. Only is the soul inside the body really Ronny? I've not liked some of Abbott's Droon books, but I thought the plotting and writing in this series kickoff was tight. Warning - it is scary - scarier than a Mary Downing Hahn ghost story, so NOT for the impressionable kid who gets nightmares!
