it was amazing
bookshelves: short-fiction

This (very) short story by Edward W. Robertson introduces us to a character Dormun - a "spiros" (like a wizard) who has the ability to entertain his fellow slaves by "breathing" characters and stories to life. However, the conditions of their slavery (and the health of one, in particular) forces Dormun to do more than petty illusions - to save them all.

The writing in this story is very good - the characters do grow in the short time we spend with them, the flow of the story works really well, and the curse of a lot of indie writers - bad grammar - is NOT visible here.

All in all, a great teaser story for the writing of Edward W. Robertson. I look forward to more.
