Love, Lies & the D.A. (Love, #1)
Lost in Romance Books's review

This story was so packed with goodness that I almost don’t know where to start! First of all, the writing was excellent. The story is filled with well written dialog which allows the reader to be “in the story” with the characters, not just be told what is happening. Speaking of characters, the story is also filled with characters besides the main hero and heroine. There is her family, his family, their co-workers, their neighbors, their exes, and the FBI agents. With that much detail, the reader understands the hero and heroine’s backgrounds which allows us to understand their motives, desires, dreams, hopes, concerns, and what they need from each other. It was refreshing to read a book about two independent, fully functioning adults developing a relationship! This is definitely a romance, but it is also a mystery. This novel is very long. There is no insta-love, no quick hopping into bed, no petty jealousies or misunderstandings. What you do have is an in depth story of two people who meet and as they are getting to know each other, become involved in a murder mystery. It keeps the reader guessing up to the last page. The story takes place over a year, which again allows the reader to not feel rushed. There is a lot of emotion in many scenes – I do not want to give away any spoilers, but there are a couple of scenes that were written heartrendingly. As I stated earlier, the book is chock full of everything: great dialog, fully developed characters, emotion, functional families, mystery, action, and yes, romance!
