Neat tale of black market shenanigans in post-Glasnost Eastern Europe. It is the mid 1990s, the economic system has fallen apart in Ukraine. The Zoo pleads with citizens to find a home for the animals it can no longer afford to feed. A writer, struggling to make ends meet, has been dumped by his girlfriend and feels lonely enough to return from a visit to the zoo with a penguin called Misha, to share his high rise flat.

A job appears writing obituaries. It is better than nothing. But soon, the people in the obituaries seem to be dying with alarming regularity. What is going on? Who knows what? And why is Misha in demand for the funerals?

A deadpan comic small masterpiece.
