"The MC feels too young for a high school junior: playing with a gerbil, quoting Dr. Seuss and locking himself in a locker. I also disliked having 3 first chapters in a row: "I could start the story here or here or here." His lists break the narrative flow. I like the concept of subversive poets and the writing is good, but the reality TV plot feels fake. One third in, I'm quitting to read another galley."
