it was amazing
bookshelves: favorites, ya, fantasy, dystopias, science-fiction

This book was too long and too short at the same time. I LOVED the different perspectives and how you knew who was speaking within the first two sentences. It helped me understand everyone's feelings involved and the one chapter from the perspective of the Queen of the Lunar people added to the urgency and ominous feel of the novel. It makes me wish all books were written in this way! Of course then there is no mystery or figuring out people's feelings for yourself which is a drawback but I really liked knowing everyone's thoughts in this one. And in this case, the story is best told from multiple perspectives because of the different things going on for each person. Add them all up and you get one amazing story line!

Cinder was once again my favorite character. She overcomes so much in this book and at the end she fully comes to terms with who she is and she realizes her responsibility. I keep hoping that her and Prince-now-Emperor Kai will get together in the last book. He has such strong feelings for her! Even when he found out she was a cyborg and Lunar, he still had feelings for her - that's true love right there!

I CANNOT wait for the third book to come out!!

Marissa Meyer
“Wolf, are you asking me to be ... your alpha female?"
He hesitated.
Scarlet couldn't help it - she burst into laughter. "Oh - I'm sorry. That was mean. I know I shouldn't tease you about this."
Still grinning, she made to retract her hand, but he was suddenly gripping it, refusing to relinquish the touch. "You just look so scared, like I'm going to disappear any minute. We're stuck on a spaceship, Wolf. I'm not going anywhere."
His lips twitched, his nervousness beginning to ease away, though his hand stayed tense over hers.
"Alpha female," he murmured. "I sort of like that."
Beaming, Scarlet gave a mild shrug. "It could grow on me.”
