really liked it

Snow Crash was a lot of fun -- a crazy vision of technology and the future from the early 90s that follows the adventures of a hacker and a delivery girl. The best part of this book was definitely Stephenson's imaginary future that includes housing developments as sovereign nations, storage units as low-cost housing, late pizza deliveries on the evening news, and (of course) a virtual reality that requires the wearing of goggles. The plot focuses on a virus spreading both on- and offline that's connected to ancient Sumerian mythology. I think Stephenson intends it to be somehow reflective of society's current situation, but I found it to be a bit of a McGuffin -- the real please of this book is in the action and the outlandishness.
