This book is hard to rate for me. I loved the feeling of place, of a Britain that's multicultural and not so squeaky clean. I loved Miri's bizarre illness. I liked the subtlety of the characters.

But I suppose I like a more traditional character arc where something happens at the end that feels like an ending, or an arrival, or something other than a meandering off.

So for character and plot, a yay. For story arc and other technical writing stuff, weird sentence structure and punctuation and so forth, they didn't quite do it for me.
