Instead of stone soup, it's cactus soup! A group of hungry soldiers ride into the southwestern town San Miguel where all of the villagers have hidden their food. But when the soldiers start making cactus soup, the villagers are intrigued and start adding the food to the pile. By the end, they've made a delicious soup that gets shared with everyone! A heartwarming familiar story in a different setting works well.
