Holm's used a comic book example with the pictures in this book. There was very little negative space on the pages and the only color present where black, white and pink. I think that this showed that this book is more geared towards girls and not so much for boys. The text was very interesting just like in a comic book, some children may find this easier to read and maybe even funner to read as well. The sentences were all very short and easy to read. Children can relate to this book because everyone wants to be something that they are not when they are younger. Maybe it is what they want to be when they grow up or maybe they even want to be queen like Baby Mouse.

Language Arts/Art
After reading this book I would ask the children to think about what something was that they wanted to be and then have them write and illustrate a little comic book with it.
